The Victorian Law Foundation offer a range of relevant educational resources that align to the curriculum.
Case Study Factsheets:
McBain v Victoria case study factsheet and Grant v Australian Knitting Mills case study factsheet
These two resources are great examples of how students should analyse other cases relevant to their VCE studies.
Model Criminal Trial, Death at Blue Hills:
This suite of resources includes a Model Criminal Trial with a suggested script and a set of case facts and witness statements to enable facilitation of a mock criminal trial in the classroom. It also includes explanatory notes which are relevant to Unit 1 AOS 3 and explanations for the rules of evidence during a Victorian Criminal Trial.
Next week is the annual Victorian Law Week. To see the full list of what is happening check out the program. If you are short of time, the VLF have compiled a special list of events that they believe are most relevant to teachers and students.
Civics - free professional learning: Friday 6 June
The Victorian Electoral Commission is offering a free professional learning day for teachers of Years 5 - 10. It offers time to learn and connect, share ideas and access resources to help you become a civics specialist in your school.
