      <p>Game 2 of the ASX Schools Sharemarket Game starts on August 19 and registrations have already opened. This is a great opportunity to have your students interacting online, in what is as close to real life share trading as you can get.</p><br />
<p>The game is designed to supplement your existing curriculum &ndash; especially commerce, SOSE, general studies and economics. It uses real sharemarket prices and is conducted during the hours of actual sharemarket trading requiring students to adjust their decision making to take account of changing events</p><br />

      <p>IDEAS (Innovative and Dynamic Educational Activities for Schools) is a set of free downloadable resources for Australian classrooms. Each IDEAS resource features a curriculum context, a learning sequence and reproducible worksheet/s. Produced by ACSA (the Australian Curriculum Studies Association), a new IDEAS resource is added to the ACSA website each term.</p><br />

      <p>Melbourne Museum presents a day of discovery of real life in the Pacific. For teachers of Years 5-9, this professional learning program on Wednesday 28 July (9.15am-3.30pm) looks at how the Pacific nations evolved, the people, customs, incredible navigational feats, contemporary life and challenges ahead for this region on our doorstep.</p><br />
<p>Participants will:</p><br />
<p>&bull;explore all parts of the museum<br /><br />
&bull;design activities to use with your students<br /><br />
&bull;hear about the design and cultural contents of the Te Vainui O Pasifika exhibition<br /><br />
&bull;participate in activities to help you unpack a new resource and<br /><br />
&bull;receive a copy of Pacific Neighbours &ndash; a new 60 page glossy resource with CDRom.</p><br />
<p>Suitable for teachers of years 5-9, this one day workshop will be accompanied by full CRT and includes lunch.</p><br />

    <title mode="escaped" type="text/html">Western suburbs iPab Competition for business studies students</title>

      <p>Be they written or multimedia entries, the I Plan a Business (iPAB) Competition is for Melbourne&rsquo;s Western Region students in Years 10 and 11 encouraging them to learn business planning skills.<strong> Prizes </strong>to the value of $500 are on offer in each category and all students receive a certificate for their entry.</p><br />
<p>The concept was developed by Victoria University and fine-tuned with the help of teachers from the Western Region of Melbourne with the aim of connecting the competition with the curriculum.</p><br />
<p>All students in secondary schools in the local government areas of Brimbank, Hobsons Bay, Maribyrnong, Melton, Moonee Valley and Wyndham are eligible to enter.</p><br />

      <p>The Australian Chapter of the SIEC-ISBE is hosting the organisation&#39;s 82nd international conference. Held in Albury Wodonga Australia the conference, <em>Ethics and Sustainability in Business</em>, is on 18 - 23 July 2010.</p><br />
<p>SIEC-ISBE is a professional organisation promoting education about business for students at all levels of the educational spectrum. Members are teachers, professors, and business professionals from around the world.</p><br />
