This assessment task for Outcome 1 in VCE Business Management Unit 4 is the second of two tasks prepared by the author for this outcome. Assessment task B covers management practices and processes associated with employee relations. Suggested answers are provided. Assessment task A focuses on factors involved in managing human resources and the key phases of the employment cycle, and was published in the June issue of Compak (Issue 4).
Task B has been designed as a closed-book test to be completed in a single lesson. The case study (stimulus material) could be given to students in advance of the test. Alternatively, a double lesson could be allocated to give students sufficient reading time.
