The topic of cash vs profit is a difficult one for students of VCE Accounting. It has been noted in VCE Accounting Assessment Reports published by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority that students experience difficulty with this topic. Possibly, as a result, the topic appears regularly in exams (most recently in the Accounting Unit 3 exam). To better prepare Year 12 Accounting students, Judith Blazejewski reinforces this concept with her Year 11 students using a carefully constructed step-by-step approach and a role-play activity.
